- Web 2.0 shows how one can use WLNG to create a mash-up between Google Maps, Facebook and Location information from the telco. A very powerful and easy way of have end users creating and sharing applications with real-time telco content. It is hard to do technically since it requires quite a lot of security, policy and SLA enforcement which is exactly what WLNG is good at.
- Service Capability Interaction Management, SCIM, shows how to combine an incoming call with legacy SS7 PrePaid, SIP calls to WLSS, and WebService invocation of an IPTV system. the end result is a PrePaid user who calls a friend while the friend is watching a VoD session. Depending on the settings the caller id is displayed, the call is rejected or sent to voice mail. BEA is doing this demo in cooperation with Convergin
Apart from having the demos done and ready I've prepared all my meetings with existing and new customers and partners. The agenda is quite busy, but I hope to see something interesting to share with you all during the week.
There are quite some rumors going on in the industry. Will Oracle do a big push, which new phones are announced from Nokia and SonyEricsson, how will IMS evolve and what will be the main theme?
Personally I think we will see a lot of video in the form of video sharing (YouTube etc), IPTV, MobileTV, etc. Web 2.0 and communities/user creation will probably also get some attention. How will the operators react?
Did I mention Oracle? Oopppss, should not do that ... anyway I didn't say what I think about the offer and what the future roadmaps will look like so I should be safe ;-)
